Queen's Orthopaedic DepartmentQueen's Orthopaedic Department is the acute care component of the continuum of care, which also includes intensive care, subacute care and home care. Orthopaedics is located on the eighth floor of the Queen Emma Tower and consists of two 24-bed units dedicated to high quality, holistic orthopedic care. Tower 8 Ewa specializes in spine related disorders, surgeries and traumatic injuries while Tower 8 Diamond Head specializes in total joint replacement. Queen's also offers classes to prepare patients for total hip/knee replacement surgery and spine surgeries.

Queen's Orthopaedic staff includes highly competent registered nurses and certified nurse's aides, many of whom are certified in orthopedic nursing. Care is patient and family-centered and culturally sensitive. Queen's believes in a collaboration between the entire health care team, which includes the patient and family, and care is delivered with an emphasis on education.
