The Queen's Medical Center

Orthopedic Department
Total Joint Replacement

Queen’s patient care encompasses all aspects of orthopedics care. This includes but is not limited to postoperative care of total joint replacement, trauma care, spinal cord injury, and virtually any condition adversely affecting the musculoskeletal system requiring hospitalization.

Total Hip Replacement
Example: Tutu Ruth is walking to the bus stop to do her usual Friday banking. She trips on the curb, falls and breaks her hip. She needs surgery to replace her fractured hip joint.

Total Knee Replacement
Example: After enduring knee pain for over ten years and countless stomach irritating pain medications, Helen has finally agreed to the knee replacement surgery her doctor has been recommending.

IV Antibiotic Therapy
Example: John, a carpenter, accidentally hammered a nail into his hand two weeks ago and the pain is getting worse. Doctors find he has a bone infection and requires six weeks of IV antibiotic therapy.
