The Queen's Cancer Center offers advanced technology in a comfortable, patient-centered atmosphere. It also physically brings together virtually every aspect of cancer diagnosis and treatment to minimize the need for patients and caregivers to make multiple visits to scattered medical providers and procedures. The Queen's Cancer Center's Patient Navigation program leads Hawaii in innovation, and has drawn national recognition. Highly trained individuals called Patient Navigators coordinate all aspects of cancer care, including physician appointments, patient education, chemotherapy, imaging services, inpatient-to-outpatient transitions, nutritional needs and other related services. Patient Navigators also reduce the stress facing patients by resolving the common fragmentation of cancer services. Queen's also partners with community navigators to further reduce barriers patients may face outside the hospital's doors. Because cancer also affects a patients family, a wide range of support services are offered.
