Bio Statement

Joseph Chang MD, MPH joined The Queen’s Medical Center-West O’ahu in 2016. Dr. Chang received his medical degree and Master of Public Health degree from Boston University in 2005. He completed both his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Chang served as an Instructor of Medicine throughout his fellowship. He is a veteran of the United States Army.

Dr. Chang is a general gastroenterologist and his interests include the entire spectrum of gastrointestinal disorders, which includes: irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease, constipation, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and liver disease. Procedures Dr. Chang performs include colonoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy (or upper endoscopy), esophageal pH studies, and video capsule endoscopy. He currently holds an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.
