Inpatient Dietitians
In-patient dietitians monitor that patients who are in the hospital are eating
well to help with recovery from illness. Dietitians instruct and counsel
patients who are on special diets. Dietitians and food services managers
check daily on how our patients are eating.

Outpatient Dietitians
Out patient dietitians provide the following services to patients who are not
actually hospitalized:

Individual Diet Instruction/Counseling
Personalized counseling to learn and follow special diets for health conditions such as high cholesterol, diabetes, weight management, digestive problems. Queen’s approach is to work together with you to decide on a practical and realistic food plan that will fit your food preferences, health needs and lifestyle. Your current diet, activity, and medical background will analyzed. A physician referral is required so that Queen’s can obtain your general medical background.

Group Classes - Managing Your Diabetes with Balancing Skills
A series of classes offer everything you need to know about managing and controlling your diabetes. The class's nutrition and diabetes management section is taught by our Registered Dietitian/Certified Diabetes Educator and includes an individualized meal planning session.

Part Time/Consultant Dietitian Services for Health Facilities
Long Term Care/Nursing Home Consultation. Resident nutrition assessments and care, MDS documentation, food services/therapeutic menu development.
