Queen's Counseling Services at Kaheiheimalie

When the Queen's Medical Center was established over a century ago, life in the islands was much easier, more relaxed, gentler. Today, the islands are busier, faster, and more stressful. At times the stress is too much to handle alone.

That's why The Queen's Medical Center offers outpatient counseling services. The Queen's Counseling Service offers a variety of services to help you, or someone you know, through difficult situations throughout the life cycle. Common concerns include:

  • Excessive Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Irrational Fears
  • Lack of Assertiveness
  • Mood Swings
  • High Stress
  • Panic Attacks
  • Relationship Problems: Co-dependency
  • Flashbacks-Post Trauma Symptoms
  • Self-Defeating Destructive Behaviors
  • Irritability and Excessive Anger
  • Troublesome Thoughts and Confusion

Queen’s clinical team of psychiatrists, psychologists and clinical social workers can help you with these concerns, and many other challenges. Services are provided to adults, adolescents, children and families.

Assessment Services
Psychiatric evaluations are offered to individuals across the life cycle (any age). These assessment surveys are based on recent advances in the neuroscience field, and an understanding of the interplay between the brain, our emotions, and its impact of daily functioning. Our services are part of a continuum of care and have direct linkage to The Queen's Medical Center for hospital based care and technology. Medication consultation and medication management is available.

The Queen's Counseling Service also offers group therapy for people sharing common concerns.  Group therapy can be useful alone or in combination with individual therapy.
