The Queen's Medical Center is often thought of as the trauma hospital, or the place people turn to when they're really sick, with good reason. But more and more families are turning to Queen's as a place to experience the birth of a child. Most come for the first-rate facilities and the warm, exemplary service of Queen's nursing staff, who have a combined experience measured in decades.

However, what many donít realize is that the very reasons Queen's is number one in Hawai’i for major illnesses makes it exceptionally safe for mothers and babies. For expectant mothers and babies over 32 weeks gestation, Queen's is an exceptional place to give birth--for both service and safety.

Expectant mothers delivering at Queen's have the benefit of a full service medical center behind them--the most comprehensive in the State of Hawai’i. It means mothers have the backing of all the different specialties that may be needed in the event of an emergency. Specialty intensive care units are available for adults, while care would be coordinated with perinatal staff for babies.

Queen's has on hand specially trained, neonatal (infant) care nurses, and a neonatology physician is on call 24/7. In addition, pediatricians who specialize in high risk, premature babies are also available.

If you would like more details about all of the services and features of Queen's Maternity Services, call The Queen's Referral Line at 808.537.7117 to schedule a tour or class. Then, ask your physician about delivery of your baby at The Queen's Medical Center.
